Computer Fixed!!!

Holy Moses Balls! Three days later and way to much money spent I now have a new hard drive. Fortunately it is now a 500GB drive and should last me more than two years, unlike the last one. I can now get back to work. Guess it was a little break from 15 hour days with the headphones on... Oh and this picture above is a picture from a city in China called Harbin. This person thought it was cold and should have a fire on the street. I thought to document it.

On other news, my first article of clothing came in for my new endeavor "Redlight Apparel". Booty shorts. Love em. I even have my model lined up for the shots. Get ready

Broken Computer

Well this is a wonderful way to start off post #4. My Macbook Pro of two years decided it had enough of me. The hard drive stopped working. Fortunately I theoretically backed it up. Annnd what is also fortunate is that I finished my first track of my next release. I am going to say track 1 of 10. My plan is to release a remix CD of ten songs in the up coming months. Track #1 .... "Move Your Feet" - By Junior Senior. Pretty excited by this one. Everyone knows this track and it just drops into some heavy electro house. Thats all for now. Gotta get off my buddies computer. Mine is still in the repair shop. Fortunately I don't have a show till next thursday and Saturday. Have a good night

Words By RJD2

A man once asked RJD2 how everything he makes is so perfect and so amazing. His response was that not everything he makes is amazing and perfect. Matter of fact maybe only 10% of what he makes he thinks is good, and that 10% is the percent that you have heard. The other 90 gets tucked away in a hard drive never to be heard by anyone ever again.

I use this example to talk about my failures and success of the day today. I was in the studio all day today working on the Yelle remix. I actually woke up at 8 am after going to bed 5 am to get to work. After hours of failure I decided to take the instrumentation I had, scrap Yelle, and turn it into an original piece. Five hours later I disliked my original piece even more. After hours and hours perfecting baselines and chord progressions I decided it was time to just get rid of the entire project. I then made a new one and pulled up three or four oldies songs that I had thought about remixing. After a little tinkering I came up with some really groovin vocal cuts and a baseline kinda similar to A1 Bassline, well initially at least. Oh and the song is Move Your Feet by Junior Senior. I actually don't know how old that song is, but it is kinda catchy and 90's sounding. Who knows. Ok I should get to sleep before sunrise. I got about 20 minutes I think...

Yelle - Qui Est Cette Fille "Who's That Girl"

Well I just started working on a new remix of Yelle's - "Qui est cette fille". Which apparently translates to "Who's That Girl", but who really cares what the english is when there's French right? I'd post the origional but I just bought if off of itunes so I figure anyone else can do the same. We'll see how this mix goes. Only been one day, got a grungy baseline going, just need to get it meshing better. Yep. That's about it today.

Day 1: Redlight Remixes / Introduction

Hello Dear World!! I had an epiphany at 4:00 am Thursday morning, October 8th 2009 that I should start a blog to mark my progress through life and share songs that I both create and encounter. I am Redlight, a producer, DJ and recent blogger. I currently live in Boston Mass. and am looking to spread the music of electronic dance to the Bostonians and east coasters in general. For my first post I will give all of my new viewers a taste of what is to come. Here are my three newest remixes. Enjoy
